Family movies are hard to come by. Entertaining family movies, that keep you on the edge of your seat in suspense, are even harder to come by. But P&G has done it once again with their newest Family Movie Night.
“Who is Simon Miller?” is about an ordinary family that could very well live right next door to you. The Millers the same everyday family challenges that we all do however, Simon (Loren Dean) is always leaving his wife and two kids for last minute business trips. He gets phone calls and literally runs out the door! Meredith (Robyn Lively) is then left to handle the ups and downs of family life with two teenagers.
Their everyday life suddenly takes a turn when Simon turns up missing. Meredith along with the kids, Sarah (Skyler Day) and Kevin (Drew Koles) discover Simon has been keeping secrets. The biggest clue being the stash of passports all bearing Simon’s photo but different names. A phone call from Simon telling the family not to tell anyone, especially the authorities, of his disappearance suddenly goes dead. The family is confused and scared but even with doubts over who Simon really is, they band together looking for clues. This is the beginning of their own international mission to get him back.
I had the opportunity to watch “Who Is Simon Miller” this week. I have to say, the movie is excellent! It’s appropriate for children of all ages but thrilling enough to keep everyone interested. And wanting more. So much more that I’m seriously hoping “Who Is Simon Miller” will become a weekly television series. We need more family appropriate television programs!
“Who Is Simon Miller” premieres Saturday, August 6th on NBC. Follow “Family Movie Night” on Facebook for up to date announcements on all the films.
