When we decided to spend Thanksgiving together this year in China, we were resigned to the fact that we’d be foregoing the traditional American Thanksgiving feast. We thought perhaps there might be an opportunity to have Peking Duck, or some other local favorite, but knew we wouldn’t be having mashed potatoes, stuffing, or cranberry sauce, let alone turkey.
We were mistaken! Thanks to the incomparable Crowne Plaza Shanghai Pudong management and staff, and American Airlines Shanghai office, we dined among long-time friends and new acquaintances and enjoyed a delicious feast. Not one detail was left to chance. We had all the trimmings we would have had state-side … and with not one, but two turkeys!
The tables settings were gorgeous!
One of the AA captains made the first carving, then the experts continued.
Some dishes were traditional to China but not necessarily Thanksgiving.
And the desserts? Well, they were delicious! (& I’ll never admit to how many little pumpkin tarts I ate!)

Oh my goodness! It certainly looks like you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Those little pumpkin tarts also caught my eye 😉
