A few weeks ago there was a special preview of the new Buena Vista Street and Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park. David had the opportunity to attend the preview with his brother, sister and other family members. They had the time of their lives, and all the while David was texting photos to me. Me, who was home recovering from a an outpatient procedure. But take a look at David’s Cars Land photos. Can you imagine yourself there just like I did? It’s quite magical, don’t you think?
The entrance to Cars Land (or exit depending on which way you’re going) is marked with a huge welcome sign which also is a great photo op. There’s a great little split rail fence around the cactus garden surrounding the sign.
And next is the Welcome to Radiator Springs – Gateway to Ornament Valley sign.
But that isn’t the only way into Radiator Springs. There are also a few by-ways, including Cross Street which takes you to Pacific Wharf and Paradise Pier or “a bug’s land”.
Have the munchies for some healthy natural snacks? Stop by Fillmore’s Taste In and eat your heart out!
Cars Land wouldn’t be Cars Land without Mater.
Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is one of the new attractions that will spin you silly.
Sarge’s Surplus Hut is totally vintage and is full of all kinds of memorabilia, souvenirs and snacks.
You won’t be staying overnight at the Cozy Cone Motel …
… but you can have your hearts desire of ice cream Cones, popCones, chili Cone queso, Route beer floats and plenty of other Cone-coctions.
And take a wild guess as to what most everything at the Cozy Cone Motel is served in!!
Flo’s V8 Cafe is an absolute kick!
Everything about Flo’s V8 Cafe is totally vintage from the decor …
… right down to the music …
… indoor and out door dining …
and delicious food.
There are hidden Mickeys everywhere in Radiator Springs!
I know of two hidden Mickey’s in the Radiator Springs Curios shop. There’s one on the front porch and one inside.
I’d wager to say these little babies are the newest members to the “Mickey Mouse Ears Club”!
Luigi’s Casa Della Tires isn’t just selling tires.
Luigi’s is also where you’ll have a blast on Luigi’s Flying Tires as you glide about on air … while tossing humongous beach balls all about.
Now it wouldn’t be Cars Land without the blinking yellow light. All day long and into the night!!
The most popular attraction is Radiator Spring Racers. Wait times have been several hours long, so be sure to get there early and/or grab a FASTPASS. The FASTPASS distribution for Racers is currently at the entrance to “a bug’s land.” And they go fast!
The Racers will take you on a magical journey through Ornament Valley before you enter Radiator Springs.
You’ll see all your favorite Cars characters. Then you stop next to a fellow car full of fans (just like your car) … and take off for a race to the finish!
It’s is absolutely magical! And most everyone of every age will love it. There are many attractions I cannot ride because of a past neck surgery, but … Radiator Springs Racers is not one of them. I am a huge fan and can’t wait to take a trip on the Racers again.
Vintage! Everything is absolutely stunning! You will feel as if you stepped back in time.
And then at dusk … the music of The Chords singing “Sh-Boom” fills the air and Route 66 begins to light up!
So … the next time you’re cruising down Route 66 … stop in Radiator Springs and stay awhile. We’re sure you’ll be glad you did!!
Be sure to watch the video and get the actual feel of Route 66. And when you visit Cars Land at dusk, you might just be lucky enough to catch a few couples swing dancing to the song of their youth!
