I’ve written many times about facing fears and anxiety when it comes to memories of Britt. Especially when it comes to certain pieces of music. An obstacle I’ve encountered at Disneyland: We’re shopping and the song “Colors of the Wind” (from Pocahontas) fills the air. At the sound of that song I’ve simply removed myself from earshot by stepping out of the store.
It wasn’t so easy at Disney California Adventure Park on Saturday night. We were amongst at least 4500 people (most all with Mickey Mouse ears on that lit up and synchronized to the music) during a special “Glow With The Show – World of Color” presentation. Our family (eight of us) was in middle towards the front of the audience. As soon as I heard the first few musical notes of “Colors of the Wind” I instantly looked about for an escape route, knowing quite well there really wasn’t one. And even if I had been able to make a quick retreat, I would not have been able to escape the music. So … I decided to clear my head, stay put and embrace the situation. I even took out my iPhone and videoed a bit of the music in celebration of what hopefully is one big step for mankind Cathi!

{{HUGS}} There are several songs that I have to that for… every now and then I embrace them and listen but it can be so hard sometimes!! That is a beautiful song.

Oh Cathi, what an amazing moment for you. So thrilled that you were able to video this for yourself. I know your beautiful daughter Britt had to be watching over you and smiling at this big accomplishment. Hugs coming your way.

What a beautiful song and I am happy you were able to embrace it and not to escape.
