I love road trips. Absolutely love them. I love to look out the window and watch the world go by. With my camera in hand I love to document things I see with photos to share with family and friends. I’ve had a desire to visit the plateaus and canyons of Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico for many years. This remarkable collection of photos has given me the motivation to plan just such a road trip.
Bruce Barnbaum’s Plateaus and Canyons, Impressions of the American Southwest, is a gorgeous book filled with spectacular images of nature. Our copy sits on our living room table where we, along with our grandchildren and guests, can flip through the pages imagining ourselves in the incredible scenes. Plateaus and Canyons is divided into three parts: The Plateaus, The Canyons and the Slit Canyons. Each is mesmerizing. I love the introduction. Bruce shares his thoughts and the motivation behind his photographs.
Upper Cottonwood Road, Autumn
Scenic roads are always a joy … even if there’s a bit of dirt involved. Upper Cottonwood Road connects Highway 89 at it’s southern end to Cannonville, Utah. The ever-changing landscape as we can see is gorgeous.
Coyote Buttes, Sunrise
Absolutely stunning. Words seen inadequate.
Spring Mountain Waterslide And Reflection
I’m always intrigued with waterfalls. It doesn’t matter if I’m standing nearby feeling the mist from the water on my face or looking at the beauty in a photo.
Buckskin Gulch Sweep
In the photographer’s own words … “Magical light, magical colors, magical shapes.”
Plateaus and Canyons, Impressions of the American Southwest is a perfect way to enjoy a fabulous road trip without ever leaving your home. Plateaus and Canyons is available at Amazon.
