Last night we went to Gotham City. We walked right into the giant comic book life of BATMAN.
Gotham City was everything we expected it to be. A bit dark with sirens, search lights, traffic. And of course cops walking their beat. BATMAN, the world’s most popular DC Comic Book Superhero, lives in and protects Gotham City. But BATMAN is more than just a Superhero. He’s a cultural phenomenon.
BATMAN has been around for many generations. And many generations of fans were in attendance last night. Many diehard fans were wearing Batman shirts, masks and even a few in full costume!
It all added to the excitement! BATMAN has come a long way since the old “SOCK” -“POW”- “ZOK” in the 1960’s television series.
And everyone was there! BATMAN, Robin, Cat Woman, The Joker, The Riddler, Scarecrow, The Penquin, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Poison Ivy. And a crowd pleaser: Alfred Pennyworth!. BATMAN has very loyal fans. And those fans cheered every time a favorite hero or villian made their entrance.
BATMAN LIVE tells Robin’s story: Where he came from and the origin of his name. We were there when he learned who BATMAN really is. We experienced the excitement he felt with his first look at the Batmobile. THE Batmobile! You know it’s more than just a superhero car. The Batmobile is “carbon fibre and it spits flames from a carbon-ceramic afterburner”. I want one!
BATMAN LIVE is a 15 million dollar stage production full of special effects including circus trained acrobats, a 3D Gotham City landscape and pyrotechnics.
BATMAN LIVE is making it’s North American premiere at the Orange County Honda Center through Sunday, September 9. You can purchase tickets online at the Honda Center website. This North American tour follows the show’s popular and acclaimed arena tour throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, and Latin America.
We received complimentary tickets from the Honda Center to BATMAN LIVE. All thoughts, opinions, photos and videos are ours.
