Halloween is a big holiday at our house. We might even go a bit overboard decorating and … we love Halloween parties! We were thrilled with the opportunity to host a Mommy Grandpa Party introducing R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour – Grampires (Parts 1 and 2). We knew all the little ones would be excited about watching one of their favorite authors in living color.
We also knew they’d love the party favors … Grampire fangs, spiders, reflective arm bands (perfect to wear while out Trick or Treating!), and lots of good treats to eat!
The main dish was a feast of fang shaped cheese quesadillas dripping with blood taco sauce!
Our youngest grandson was a bit unsure about being “haunted” at first, but then … he couldn’t tear himself away. We reassured all the kids that vampires are totally make believe.
All the kids settled down in the familyroom for movie snacks and the spooky Grampire tale. Cody and Kennedy even had their very own Grampire!
Part 1 introduces two of the main characters, Mike and his older, teenaged sister, Cristen. They decide to go to their grandfather’s home at his new retirement community to pay him a surprise visit. What they discover is this: things are not quite right with their grandpa. And things are also not quite right with his fellow neighbors that only go out at night! Much to their surprise they soon learn their grandpa’s secret!
Part 2 continues with a fight for survival at the community center weekly bingo game. The two siblings take on the entire community of vampires! With the help of their grandpa (Grampire!) of course! Sunset Estates is more than either of the grandkids ever expected!
And umm … perhaps Grampire got to Kennedy when no one was looking!
No compensation was recieved for this post. We were selected to be a MommyParties hosts as part of a promotional program with MomSelect. Mommy Parties did provide us with a copy of R.L. Stine The Haunting Hours – Grampires, for review along with Grampire teeth, Grampire stickers and reflective armbands. All photos, opinions and awesome memories made … are our own.
