iPad Apps For Kids For Dummies

Have you heard of those bright yellow Dummy books? Well I’m here to tell you that they aren’t really for Dummies. And not just because I own no less than five of them. Yep, five!

The newest book to join our Dummy library is the new iPad Apps For Kids For Dummies .

I actually thought I had a pretty good handle on the apps that are available for our grandchildren to play on our iPads. I thought we had pretty much downloaded all they could possibly want/need for entertainment and education. What I didn’t know is there are apps that can actually help older kids with homework along with many that teach the basics to younger children.

Author Jinny Gudmundsen is a Kid-Tech columnist for USA TODAY. She knows her stuff! She’s a trusted guru of anything virtual for kids. She’s the go-to expert on apps and videos games to tech toys and websites.

I’m seriously impressed with the information in iPad Apps For Kids For Dummies. I’ve already downloaded several apps for our grandchildren. And a few for me too! Right now my favorite is the Geo Walk HD – 3D World Fact Book app. It’s a virtual trip around the world!

Our youngest grandson likes the educational Stack The Countries where you literally stack the countries of the world after answering multiple choice questions. Educational and fun!

iPad Apps For Kids For Dummies also includes information for video and radio apps. For kids! Who knew? Not me. But that’s not because I’m not up on apps. There are thousands of apps available and we can’t possibly be aware of each and every one of them. That’s why the iPad Apps For Kids For Dummies book is such a gift. Gudmundsen has taken her expertise and created the perfect book to take the guess work out of helping kids learn and play on iPads (iPhones, iPods).
