We always enjoy the times we pick up our grandson and his friends from middle school. It’s a kick to listen to their laughter and hear all about the ups and downs of their day. They’re usually very up beat and always hungry. Feeding teens on the go can be a challenge. Especially when trying ensure they get enough protein for energy. Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries have made it an easy task with ‘big smile’ results! We’ve taken a few of our favorite recipes for chicken and made them into a quick chicken snack.
Even though kids (of all ages) will love them as finger food, we decided to take Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries and give them a good wrap! It was simple to do and the results were delicious!
They are made with white meat and are fully cooked chicken pattie fritters. Shaped like french fries, they’re easy to eat alone, in casseroles, or in a multitude of recipes. Use your imagination, and the kids will come running. We whipped up a couple of tortilla wrap ideas that we thought everyone would love. Simply spread out Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries on a baking sheet and bake @ 400 degrees for 12 – 15 minutes. Now let’s get to #ChickenFryTime!
Our first wrap has an exotic flavor. Chinese Chicken Fries Wraps are simple and oh so good. It’s just like eating at your favorite Chinese food restaurant.
Ingredients:
Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries
6 Flour tortillas
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 grated carrot
1 cup won ton strips
Chinese salad dressing
Chinese salad dressing ingredients:
1 cup canola oil
4 tablespoons rice vinegar
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Warm flour tortillas for a few seconds until they are soft and pliable. Lay the tortilla flat. Place the chicken in the center. Layer on cabbage, carrots, won ton strips and Chinese salad dressing. Roll up and secure with a toothpick, if necessary.
Serve with fresh fruit and enjoy!
Another Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries wrap idea is the all American Ranch Salad Wrap.
Ingredients:
Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries
6 Flour tortillas
1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup grated cheese
6 – 8 slices bacon cooked and broken into bite size pieces
1 avocado sliced
1/2 cup of your favorite ranch dressing
And just like the Chinese salad wraps, warm flour tortillas for a few seconds until they are soft and pliable. Lay a tortilla flat and, in the center, layer Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries. Then add lettuce, cheese, bacon, avocado and ranch salad dressing. Roll up and secure with a toothpick, if need be.
You can serve the chicken wraps already made or let everyone make their own. The only rule is …
… Enjoy!
But don’t forget … Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries are delicious and a huge hit as finger food too! And you can dip them in your favorite dipping sauces for chicken. Or serve with dipping sauces for appetizers and call them hor d’oeuvres!
