Today we want to focus on a simple but vibrant coral geranium blossom. A few months ago Cathi and I helped my sister and brother-in-law pack up his sweet mother’s household for a move from California to Texas. Mary, the ever vigilant gardener, had to leave behind the beautiful geraniums that lined her driveway and dotted her garden. Each and every one planted by her, over many decades. We decided to break off a few starter stems and plant them in our garden. Now Mary’s geraniums are established and again blooming beautifully. Did you know you can break off geranium stems, place them in potting soil or the ground, and they’ll eagerly root and grow? Amazing!

How sweet to take them for her! I may have to add geraniums to my garden. They sound hardy!

You captured the blossom quite well, especially given that you used a cell phone camera.

what a pretty color. I’ve never had luck with growing them that way or over winter them, but potted from the store lasts me all season.
