We recently visited the San Diego Valley View Casino Center to watch Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival.
I was accompanied by my 10-year old son, Joey, and two of my Girl Scouts, aged six and seventeen.
The show was broken into two Acts with a 20 minute intermission separating them. The first act included appearances by Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy… and musical vignettes from Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, interspersed with vaudeville style comedy routines and acrobatics.
The intermission was a smorgasbord of concessions, including all of the tried and true favorites like cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones, all served up Disney style with a take away souvenir. For those who were genuinely hungry, the venue itself had open concessions serving everything from foot long corn dogs to personal sized pizzas.
Act Two reopened with our friends under the sea, and continued with some show stopping numbers from the cast of the Toy Story movies.
On the whole, the show was a hit, with a run time just long enough to justify the ticket price without losing the interest of the target audience.
All of my group loved the show and are still chattering about their favorite parts, but on the whole we agreed that it was most appealing to children from three to ten (or those of us who are perennially young at heart!)
