Every summer the young woman of, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, renew their self worth, friendships, and most importantly, their testimonies of their belief in God. They do this at Girls Camp.
It was through Girls Camp that I, at age twelve, was first introduced to the LDS Church. It was after my third summer at camp that I joined the Church.
My daughter Britt loved, and I do mean loved, Girls Camp. She participated in everything that went on at camp and many times would lead the activities. One of the traditional songs sung at camp is, ‘Walk Tall, You’re A Daughter Of God’.
This was Britt’s favorite song.
The young women from our local Church sang ‘Walk Tall, You’re a Daughter of God’ at Britt’s funeral. Their sweet voices brought me great peace. The last verse was written especially for Britt.
