Last weekend we set out on a road trip. Destination: Family wedding in Utah. NY’s brother and wife and the two of us climbed into the SUV and hit the road. At about the half way point (or a little more) we picked up their sister at her newly custom-built home just outside Zion National Park. We hadn’t been ‘road tripping’ for a quite some time. It was fabulous and we enjoyed every minute. We stopped and visited family members in various locales along the way as well as an ancestral monument. The wedding of our darling niece, who was an absolutely gorgeous bride, was a very special event. The ceremony and reception were both full of happiness and close relatives, as well as long time and newly made friends. The entire road trip was perfect. We had a wonderful time traveling, laughing and enjoying each others company and the beauties of nature and industry of mankind along the way. This view was captured from outside one of the hotels we stayed in. Country living at its best!

Great shot and sounds like an even better time with family together. My husband and I plan to one day drive across the USA and possibly end in Utah. That way I can catch up with so many friends and get to visit SLC.
Congratulations to your Niece x

Sadly I am a typical New York City gal and do not drive, never bothered getting a license with so much public transportation at my disposal and the horrid traffic and parking in the city make the trains so much faster, but I sure do miss a good old fashioned road trip! Haven’t taken one since childhood! Looks like you had a great time!
Cathi says
We had an excellent time Tracy! I have to admit … I envy you living in NYC with the transportation. My husband lived in Chelsea in the late 70’s and loved it. We’d love to spend a year in NYC in the near future. Gotta love New York City! Fact is my nickname for my husband is New York. 😉

Charming view! I lived in Utah very briefly, but was too young to remember much.

Our last road trip was in 2007 when we moved back to California from Florida. We spent 2 1/2 months traveling the USA and had an incredible time. This weekend trip was hopefully a taste of more to come. Hope you get yours soon too Rorybore!!
