Back on December 31 we had a freak snow storm in our little valley. One of those storms that only occurs maybe once every 20 years or so. The icy snow did quite a bit of damage to our wimpy Southern California foliage. Fact is we lost a lot of plants including the 25 foot tall junipers lining our front walkway. So we’re very pleased to see flowers finally popping up in our backyard like this late bloomer.

We are blessed to not get any severe damage to our plants. The thing we mostly have to worry with are trees falling. We took care of the large ones near our home a few years ago, so we don’t have to worry with one hitting our house unlike our neighbor a few houses down. That always stayed on my mind when confronting the possibility of high winds, snow, and freezing rain. I’m glad that’s behind us.
Would love to have you join my #WW linky party here!
Have a fototastic day! 😉

I don’t think our So Calif trees and bushes were ready for snow Cathy. Ha!

Our weather this year here in the states seems to be getting worse all the time, we are already experiencing 111 degree temps, but we do live in the desert which present problems for the for the vegetables they really struggle, flowers on the other hand do pretty well, if I am here to water every day to keep them alive.
Hope you enjoy your spring!!
Thanks for stopping by OMHG ww this week!!

It always amazes me that my perennials survive our long harsh cold bitter snowy winters. I put a good bed of leaves over the gardens, but still: it’s 6 months at least of bitter cold!! and yet every spring: Boom! we’re back.
glad such a pretty bloom survived for you. 🙂
Cathi says
Nature is pretty darn amazing isn’t it Rorybore?
