Gift Guide for the Traveler
Do you have specific necessities when you travel? It’s different for everyone, but we all have our never-leave-home-without-it favorite travel items. You know, the practical-to-quirky things you can’t live without. This is our holiday gift guide for the traveler or wanderer/explorer on your gift list, with each item being under twenty dollars! And this is our obligatory holiday disclosure: Affiliate links included *wink
I have to have a Travel List. Actually, I have to have a to-do list. Because if it’s not on the list, it doesn’t happen. Or it doesn’t get done. Or… it doesn’t get packed.
Our Luggage Scale has saved us from extra fees (or what I lovingly refer to as: fines!) more than once. The Camry handheld scale weighs luggage up to 110 pounds. It also has a display with the current room temperature (go figure).
You just have to have a good Portable Power Bank for smart phones. We have several power banks and use them for everyday use as well as when traveling. The Poweradd is available in green, rose red, blue, and black.
If you need to charge more than one device at a time this Mophie Powerstation is the answer. We’ve charged three phones at an all day into the night trip to amusement parks without missing a beat!
If you’re going anywhere international, a Travel Adapter is a must. The Ceptics Adapter is convenient and even has a USB plug.
I’m loving this Leather Journal Notebook from Maleden. It’s a spiral bound Traveler Notebook that looks like it’s been around the world on exotic adventures. It’s sure to bring out the adventurer in every traveler.
The Grid-It Organizer is ideal for pens, notepads, cellphones, chargers, wallets, and more. Need I say, “Perfect for traveling!”? We gifted one to our traveling bohemian son!
Unless you plan on buying your hair and body products at your destination, you best have a good supply of Travel Bottles. David loves this Leak Proof Silicone Travel Bottle Set which is TSA approved.
My favorite is these TSA approved Travel Bottle Tubes. They collapse flat which makes it easy for me to get the last drop of shampoo or body lotion.
Water. We can’t live without it. But, depending on where in the world you are, finding good clean water isn’t always easy. At times it may even be hard to find in familiar surroundings. The LifeStraw can be a life saver. The LifeStraw is perfect for backpacks and handbags.
Rustic Cord Keepers are perfect for headphones, phone chargers, USB cords and camera cords. And, hey! You have to love the cool patterns and cute little snap! At only three inches long, it fits nicely in pockets, backpacks, and handbags.
The fun and unique Valourgo Collapsible Water Bottle is non toxic and eco-friendly. This collapsible water bottle is soft but unbreakable. reusable and can be exposed to temperatures ranging from 40°F to 248°F. The handy water bottle is available in 5 different colors.
Crumpled City Maps are soft city maps for urban jungles. They’re indestructible and 100% waterproof, and can be crumpled, squashed and crushed into a ball. They provide details including streets, monuments, museums, art galleries and much more and there are more than 50 available cities.
Brightly colored luggage tags can make all the difference in the world at a crowded airport baggage carousel. Bags tend to look alike as they tumble by with people reaching in front of you to grab what they think is theirs. These Aluminum Luggage Tags are fun, sturdy and easy to identify as yours. They’re available in eight colors.
Another choice is the Casmonal Faux Leather Luggage Tags with a cool privacy flap. They’re brightly colored, easy to identify tags and avaliable in eleven colors and in sets of two, four and eight. You can also buy sets with a variety of colors.
We love the 1,000 Places to See Before You Die books. We use ours as a travel journal of sorts. We mark on the pages when we visited each unique place and what we liked most about it. There are actually two different books. One for the world and another specifically for the United States and Canada. The books are perfect for dreaming it, planning it and doing it!
I love Scratch Off Travel Maps! You can dream, plan and record your travels for all to see. Frame it like a beautiful journal to hang in your home! What an awesome conversation piece!
We don’t need to be in the middle of a Pandemic to wear face masks. I’ve been wearing them on airplanes for years and now everyone MUST do so. These Adjustable, Reusable and Washable Bamboo Face Masks have everything you need. They have adjustable ear loops and they’re washable. They have an adjustable nose wire for comfort and to prevent your glasses from fogging. They also have a filter pocket.
If you have a sewing machine and can sew a straight seam, we also have a Washable Face Mask Tutorial.
And now … Just for fun!
We love road trips. It doesn’t matter if it’s a short few days along the coast or a longer trip across the country. We’re always game for a new adventure. Combine our love of road trips and board games and what do you have? The Road Trip game where you can see the USA from your own ‘vehicle’ without ever leaving the house.
Happy Travels!
