Yesterday our Cadillac blew a head gasket. Actually two. Evidently the North Star engine has two head gaskets. The old gal is 9 years old with almost 120,000 miles. The repair bill will be more than she’s worth according to the Kelly Blue Book. Even though she’s worth more than the repair bill to me, I have to be reasonable. So … we’re in the market for a new car. I’d like to find a 2005 Cadillac with very low miles. I know there’s one out there somewhere. I’d even fly to New York to buy it and drive it home to California. I just have to find it.
We’d also consider a Chrysler 300. What can I say … we like big cars. (Know that the old gal in the photo gets 25 miles to the gallon) Our Cadillac has a large backseat with two car seats and our 11 year old grandson comfortably sits between them. There are four plugs for electronics and the trunk is huge … easily fits 6 suitcases. I’ve driven more than my share of trucks, SUVs and vans. I prefer this big sedan. ;D
So … what do you recommend we buy?

WOW! I have no idea. I’m not a Sedan person yet. We are pretty much in realm of minivans.

I love a big strong car. Sad that yours is gone. I hope you find a nice sturdy one again.
Right now because I want a dodge caravan, that’s what I’d suggest. Unless you find another strong beauty.
Good luck.

I love our Blazer! Big enough for anything and runs like a champ!

I have no idea! We have a Ford Focus, which is alright for now, but I don’t absolutely love it.

We’re in the market for a new car, and are thinking about the 2009 Dodge Charger or Cadillac CTS.

I’m an SUV person so I wouldn’t know which car to recommend. Good luck with your shopping!

Blown head gaskets are always bad news – you poor thing! I think you should stick with what you love. You can check out places like cars.com, autotrader.com, carfax.com, etc. to do a search based on the make, model, year – and any other specific criteria you might have in mind. I found an awesome deal for the Santa Fe I’ve wanted forever – sure, we had to drive to Virginia to get it, but it was worth it! 🙂

Sorry to hear about your car! Unfortunately I like smaller sedans so I have no ideas!

So sorry to hear about your car. I need to catch up with you later. Will talk to my father who works for a car dealer. I have a Town and Country mini van, but I love the Sante Fe that my brother just got for his family.
