I always miss Britt just a little bit more during the holidays. She would help me decorate the tree and she knew the history of each and every ornament we placed amoung the tiny white lights.
A few days ago while I was channel surfing on the television, an Allstate Auto Insurance commercial caught my attention and hasn’t let it go. I recorded the commercial and have watched it several times since.
After some research, I found the history behind the commercial. The music is from Jason Wade, a member of a band named Lifehouse. He performs the song “From Where You Are” that he was inspired to write after the death of a 16 year-old friend in an auto accident. In the commercial there is a lovely highway lined with cars of teenagers from all walks of life. The cars seem to drive off into the distance never to return.
It is an excellent video and I recommend that everyone with children watch it, regardless of their age.

That is so sad! A really good friend of mine died in a car accident a couple of years ago and it still seams like yesterday. I am so grateful that I had the chance to talk to her the night before. I still miss her.
I’ve always been a big fan of Lifehouse but never heard this song before. Thank you for sharing this.

I’ll have to watch this another day. It’s hubby’s birthday and we are heading out for lunch. He’d probably rather I not have makeup flowing down my cheeks. My brother-in-law and baby niece were killed in a car accident a few years ago.

Wow … that gave me goosebumps. Very touching, and a good reminder for moms like me, for days when my 6 year old starts to drive me crazy. 🙂 Cherish every moment!
