*Affiliate links included. One of our favorite year round vegan sandwiches is made with jackfruit. The BBQ pulled jackfruit recipe is easy peasy and I’m here to tell you … oh so delicious! This recipe is another one of those you can adapt to your own taste. It’s perfect for slider buns, regular buns or even as a tortilla wrap or taco.
The easiest way to buy jackfruit is in a can. If you’re able to buy it fresh, make sure you’re having a large gathering. An average fresh jackfruit weighs about 20 pounds, and can grow upwards to 80 pounds. Yup! That’s a whole lot of jackfruit!
We buy our canned jackfruit on Amazon. We have however, found it in local Asian markets too.
Ingredients:
- 3 14 ounce cans jackfruit in water or brine (or 2 20 ounce cans)

- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon organic brown sugar

This is interesting. I have never ever seen a jack fruit. I dont even know what one is! I do think this sounds good as it is different and would be a bit different. We all like sliders, and I would give it a go, if I ever see a jack fruit. 80 pounds? whoa!
