For a full-on Disney experience, the best place to stay while visiting Disneyland is at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels. We’ve stayed in each one, but there are times when all three are sold out. Not too long ago we planned a last minute trip to the Happiest Place On Earth. We discovered there weren’t any rooms available at any of the Disneyland Resort hotels. We were, however, able to stay at one of their Good Neighbor Hotels. Camelot Inn & Suites is located directly across the street from Disneyland’s Harbor Boulevard entrance. The proximity is just a short walk to the main gates of both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.
The main gates are within a 5 to 10 minute walk. And no added concern about driving in traffic or parking. That’s a win-win!
The lobby is quite cozy, and the hotel staff helpful and courteous.
Because Camelot Inn & Suites is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, they are authorized to sell Disneyland/Disney California Adventure Park Park Hopper Tickets. That alone can save you wait time at the ticket booth queue.
We chose a room with two queen beds. It was perfect for our stay with our adult son and teenage grandson. Basically four adults. The hotel room had plenty of room and was nice and also quiet. We didn’t hear people running down the hall or TVs blaring from adjacent rooms (which are two of my hotel pet peeves).
The terrace level pool and sundeck with jacuzzi are located on the fourth floor. It has a delightful view with plenty of sitting and lounging options as well as a lovely gazebo for shade. It’s also a perfect vantage point to view the Disneyland firework show.
The fireworks show at Disneyland is always spectacular! We enjoyed the pyrotechnic display from just outside our hotel room door.
Following the fireworks, we walked just a few steps back to our room. We each got a good night’s rest before our busy day at the Happiest Place On Earth early the next morning.
So, for a good price, along with a clean, comfortable and cozy room within walking distance of Disneyland’s main gate, choose Camelot Inn & Suites. We’ve also stayed at their sister hotel, The Tropicana. It’s located right next door. Both are great choices when the Disneyland Resort on-property hotels are booked.

Such a beautiful place to stay. I love the way the room looks. I have never been to Disneyland and chances are I will never get to, or see the rooms so seeing posts like this let me enjoy what the experience is like.

Oh that would be such a great option for a place to stay! I love that you can see it from your room and watch the fireworks! We never make it at the parks long enough to see them. So great also that its walking distance….you could skip the rental car!

We lived in the area when we visited Disneyland so never got to experience the hotels. Now that we’re in the midwest, we certainly need to check them out.

We have stayed there before. Nothing to complain about. It was great.
