There’s a room in our home that we call the studio. It’s where I create. From sewing and craft projects to writing, my studio is where I like to be. The closet is lined with shelves and the shelves are filled with layers of fabric. There are bolts of fabric right down to little scraps. From denim to organza, and solids to calico prints. I’m happy in the studio and I’m happy creating.
Mary Jane Baxter’s Chic on a Shoestring is the perfect addition to the books in my studio. In fact, you could say I’m a bit crazy about this book. If you or someone you know is crafty or loves vintage creations, Chic on a Shoestring is sure to be a favorite ‘go to’ guide.
These are just a few of the many easy and fun, step by step projects that you’ll find in Chic on a Shoestring. Covered Buttons: Chic, easy and they give any garment a finished, classy touch. So easy you’ll wonder why you’ve never done it before.
Shoe Clips: Take a favorite comfortable pair of shoes and change their look on a whim. From simple elegant bows to fancy embellishments, these darling shoe clips are sure to get you compliments.
Kitsch-tastic Flip-Flops: I can’t even begin to count how many pairs of flip-flops I’ve owned. You know, the inexpensive comfy kind. I recently paid a whole lot more than I care to admit for a pair of ‘fancy’ flip-flops. But I could have followed the step by step instructions for the Kitsch-tastic flip-flops and saved a lot of money. Aren’t they adorable?
Cashmere Beanie: I love hats. I have a closetful of hat boxes, most holding more than one hat each. But none are as cute as this chic beanie. It’s made from an old sweater, needle and thread, and any embellishments that you choose. Way cute!
Chic on a Shoestring includes these projects and many, many more. Patterns, instructions and step by step photos. It’s all in Chic on a Shoestring! Chic on a Shoestring is available on Amazon.
