We love to travel. It’s what we do. Because of our involvement in the airline industry, we’ve had opportunities to see much of the world. Traveling has opened doors to new places, cultures, and experiences. Along the way we’ve relied on Marriott to be our home away from home more times than we can count. Almost wherever we go in the world we can also refer to it as Destination Marriott. The wonderful people of Marriott are like family. We can always count on feeling welcome. We find the staff to be caring and helpful and willing to share their knowledge of surrounding areas, places of interest, and sights to see.
One of our all time favorite destinations is New York City. Having lived there, David enjoys showing me around the ‘Big Apple.’ We love visiting museums, historical landmarks, and out-of-the-way places. And of course, simply mingling with the locals. New York City is made up of five different boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx. Each is full of history, fascinating neighborhoods and famous sights. Each borough has its own special flair and unique personality.
In New York City alone, there are more than 100 various Marriott hotels that can provide a myriad of choices to plan your visit around.

Manhattan is home to the fabulous theaters of Broadway and Off-Broadway. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing a plethora of shows. My favorite is “Les Miserables,” while one of David’s is “Master Class.” We’re both looking forward to seeing “Wicked,” which is playing just a few blocks from the ‘New York Marriott Marquis‘ hotel. (WE can’t believe we haven’t seen it yet either!) A perfect evening would be an Italian dinner at Carmine’s, a family style restaurant, and then taking in the sights while walking to the theater. And if you’re not up for walking, there’s always an ‘E ticket’ ride in a NYC taxi cab!
Since New York City is world-famous for its Broadway shows, this interactive site provides a vivid timeline of Broadway musicals. We have spent a lot of time reminiscing about shows we’ve seen and those we’ve yet to see. We plan to get our fill of theatrical performances, including the Rockettes Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall, as well as just walking about. Seems we can never get enough of the great metropolis that is New York City, which is also often referred to as ‘the city that never sleeps.’
So … what city would you most like to visit? Do you have a dream vacation spot on your ‘bucket list?’ Keep in mind that Marriott International is a leading hospitality company with over 3,800 properties in over 74 countries and territories around the world. I’m here to tell you, they’re ready to help with that bucket list!
And remember Marriott is on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.

The Marriott brand is great. When we travel I always seek out the Residence Inn for the full suite style accommodations. The one in Mid-town ATL is awesome.
