Okay friends. This is the week it’s happening. It’s this week that Disney Pixar COCO premieres with red carpet festivities and the magic of Disney. Everyone at our house has been waiting (not so patiently) to see this exciting new film on the big screen. Adding a little extra magic for us is that, Miguel, the star of COCO, is a near mirror image of our little nephew Elijah! How fun is that?!
About the movie:
“Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.”
Just for fun, we have yummy Disney Pixar COCO Hot Cocoa and Pan de Puerto and Hot Cocoa recipes.
We also have delightful Family Tree for a fun lesson on family and ancestors.
Don’t miss our other COCO coloring and activity pages.

COCO opens in theatres everywhere on November 22nd!
As an added bonus, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will show right before COCO.
And for now, it’s the only place you’ll be able to see Olaf’s Frozen Adventure! I had the opportunity to see extended previews along with the great musical numbers. Believe you me, you don’t want to miss it!

I am so psyched to see this movie. My husband and I are from Arizona (now living in Chicago) but with so much Mexican heritage we have a “thing” for Day of the Dead and sugar skulls.

I can not wait to see this movie! Just looking at the animation alone looks pretty cool in this film and I’m sure the kids will enjoy it also. Thanks for the printable activity sheets, I’m printing the family Tree for the kids to fill out.
