It was all about the Mouse at our recent #DisneySide Home Celebration party. From our Mickey Mouse door decorations to the Mickey cupcakes! We wanted to show our #DisneySide with a fun celebration that could fit anyone’s budget.
So when it came to our front door decor, we decided to make simple Mickey and Minnie heads from the black paper plates we’d be using for our refreshments.
Supplies: (We made two. One for each of our double front doors)
- 1 large black paper plate
- 2 small black paper plates
- glue (we used a hot glue gun)
- 3 yards each of yellow, red and black 1/2 inch ribbon
- 12 inches of red polka dot ribbon for Minnie’s bow
- 2 push pins
Glue the smaller paper plates to the large paper plate to form a Mickey Mouse head. Using a paper punch, punch a hole centered between the ears on the larger paper plate.
Thread the ribbon through the hole on the paper plate. Add a bow between the ears to make a Minnie head.
Place Mickey’s head where you want it on the front of the door. Run the ribbon over the top of the door using a push-pin to anchor it to the inside of the door.
Let your ribbon ends hang down the inside of the door.
And there you have it! Mickey and Minnie Door decorations!
