While reading my friend Shauna’s blog this morning I had to chuckle when she said she would startle when she saw her milk jug skeleton moving in the breeze. I remember the first time I saw her skeleton and how much I wanted to make one with our grand babies. This year was the birth of our skeleton. I cut the pieces out of the empty milk jugs I had been saving for what seemed like forever. (NY is the only one who really drinks milk) Cody and I worked together tracing his hands and feet to use on the skeleton and then NY and Cody used jute to tie the bones together. Voila…
When it comes to Halloween decorations my mind likes to play tricks on me. Now, one must first know, my imagination is very, very, vivid. I don’t watch scary movies except for the October tradition of Arachnophobia, (sometimes) The Lady in White and E. T. If I do happen to see anything that is scary you can bet money that I will have nightmares. (plural) Still, I love to decorate the house inside and out for Halloween. Does the skeleton hanging (not from a noose!) in the foyer s
care me like Shauna’s scares her? Not as much as his friend the Witch who is taller than I am. You can see her in the doorway on the left side in the previous photo. The spiders climbing on the drapes can scare me but I work, and I do mean work, very hard at reminding myself that they are not real.
The front garden “Graveyard” doesn’t scare me at all but my “Dancing Ghosts” do a darn good job of keeping me in the house after dark.
I have to admit the “Mummy” who’s been residing in Kennedy’s bedroom this month is not my friend. I will go so far as to admit I am almost terrified of this guy. I will not go in the room after dark and I don’t particularly like going in during the day. If I do go in the room, I quite simply do not look his way. I love how he looks in the window though.
I’ve never been a tulle kind of gal however lately I have developed a love for decorating with it. I’ve tied black tulle around the outside lamps…
…and around the dining room chairs. It’s one my favorite decorations this year.

I love your decortions. I wish I could Trick or Treat at your house! I do remember when you saw my skeleton and took a photo and made plans to have one of your own. I do not and cannot watch scary movies. ET is about as spooky as I can think about.
