We’re happy and honored to be part of the 2018 Knott’s Berry Farm #BerryBloggers program. This blog post is part of our partnership with Knott’s Berry Farm.
Are you ready for summer? And ready for fun in the sun and making memories with family and friends?
Saturday, May 19th is the 2018 season opening day for Knott’s Soak City Water Park. Soak City is about cooling off in the summer heat with thrilling water slides or floating down the lazy Sunset River. Or simply relaxing in the shade or catching some rays. We recently had the opportunity to attend the 2018 Season Pass holder’s weekend. We’re here to tell you why renting Knotts Soak City Cabanas is a great way to enhance your water park experience!
There are plenty of places to set up a home base at Soak City. There are lounge chairs, chairs and tables and lots of grassy areas. We’ve seen a lot of people with blankets and their own umbrellas setting up on the grass just like at the beach.
Last year at Soak City we chose lounge chairs in a shady area by the wave pool.
This year we enjoyed one of the many cabanas, and … we LOVED it!
Each Cabana is semi-private and comes with:
- Up to 8 non-transferrable wristbands (allows entrance into Cabana)
- Patio table with umbrella and four chairs
- Four lounge chairs
- Four inner tube rentals
- Waiter service (SO awesome!!)
- You can add more guests for an extra cost
- The best way to rent a cabana is to reserve it through the Knott’s Berry Farm website.
- You’ll choose a specific cabana after arriving at the park.
- Upon arrival go directly to the Tubes & Cabanas rental stand located on the right side of the Wave Pool, towards the back of the park.
- The earlier you arrive at Soak City the more choices you’ll have in choosing your cabana.
There are three cabanas sections to choose from:
- Shore Break Cabanas
- Wavepool Cabanas
- Malibu Cabanas.
All amenities are the same, just the location of the cabanas is different.
We chose a Shore Break Cabana because they were more secluded than the Malibu and Wavepool Cabanas. Shore Break Cabanas are also closest to our grandkid’s favorite attractions.
As mentioned, each Cabana comes with a patio area complete with table, chairs and umbrella. Each Cabana also has four lounge chairs and four inner tube rentals.
Your own personal inner tube means no waiting at certain water slide queues. Kennedy was thrilled! She was also thrilled with her Water Wallet that is available for purchase. She actually filmed and face-timed her mom and best friend while IN the water!
We loved being able to order our lunch and snacks from the comfort of our Cabana. The menu was ready and waiting for us and we had a blast deciding on what to eat.
Leslie was our server and we’re here to tell you … she is awesome! We never wanted for anything. Leslie told us all about the brand new menu items and we were anxious to give them a go.
David chose to try the new Prime Rib Sandwich which was served with Au Jus and Creamy Horseradish. He loved it!
He was also a fan of the new Shrimp Ceviche & Chips.
Kennedy went with her longtime favorite Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders.
Cody is a number one fan of Cheese Burgers!
And me? I’m a huge fan of Knott’s Veggie Burger. I love it! It’s not on the menu, but as with every restaurant at Knott’s Berry Farm, there are vegetarian/vegan options available. Just ask! Oh! And Knott’s french fries are the BEST!
Enjoy the different views at each of the 3 Cabana location.
Our grandkids love The Wedge and the Sunset River, which are located near Shore Break Cabanas.
It’s all a matter of preference. Just remember…
- You want to arrive early so you will have first choice of which cabana you want.
- Bring your own towels and sunscreen.
- Be ready for a fun day full of relaxation and… thrills!
David says: It was a kickback and relaxing day. The kiddos came and went at will and enjoyed all the different water park activities. They always knew where to find the cabana to rest up between adventures. And to enjoy great food!
Cathi says: I love the privacy and security of the Cabanas. For us, having older grandchildren meant they could play on their own while we relaxed in the comfort of our own shade and patio.
Cody says: The shade and comfort of the Cabana was awesome. And I liked not having to wait in line at the restaurants to get our food. Thanks Leslie!
Kennedy says: I loved having my own inner tube. I never had to wait for a tube to become available at the slides or river. I was always ready to go!
