Aloha Friday – Pinterest

From Kailani at An Island Life: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let’s take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question … nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!

One of our darling nephews is getting married and we’re absolutely delighted to have his wedding reception at our home. I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for the perfect decorations. And I’ve been looking on Pinterest!

Isn’t this Front Door Wedding Decor fun and a bit of elegant?

But looking for wedding decor isn’t the only thing I do on Pinterest. I’m also a little bit crazy for fruit tarts. I think these Lemon-Blackberry Mini Tarts are to die for!

And Sailing Greece is on my bucket list.

I actually have Pinterest boards for my Bucket List, as well as Pies and Tarts, Party favors and decor along with 52 other boards.

How about you? Are you on Pinterest? Leave a link to your Pinterest page so I can follow you!!

Welcome to Favorite Photo Saturday!

We take a lot of photos every week. Sometimes hundreds! Seriously. (Love digital photography!) So we decided to choose one favorite each week and post it on Saturday. However this week we have three favorites!

I love a good sky. This week the sky ran the gamut. On Tuesday night we had an incredibly gorgeous orange sunset. It was so vibrant that the inside of our house was tinted orange and pink. I loved this sky so much that I also featured it as our Wordless Wednesday photo.

The very next night on Wednesday the sky was preparing for rain with dark clouds and tropical storm winds. Both skies were enjoyable. Both earned their rightful place on Favorite Photo Saturday.

Last night we stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy new cake pans to make a cake for our grandson’s 12th birthday. I turned quickly at the customer service counter and ripped a hole in the back of my jeans on a candy shelf. The sales associate apologized. I told her I was sorry too and that the cake was going to be more expensive now than I thought. I also said the faulty shelf corner should be fixed before another mishap might occur or a child or adult could be injured on it. The manager on duty was summmoned and he too apologized for the faulty rack but said it really was ‘out of the way.’ I was thinking he should tell that to my behind!

What do you think the responsibility of the store is? (Be honest … my feelings won’t be hurt.)

Happy Aloha Friday!!

Carter’s has been making clothing for over 150 years. Carter’s has been in my life for over 55 years. I grew up wearing Carter’s as did my babies and now my grand-babies. Just this morning our 6-year old granddaughter headed out the door for school wearing an adorable Carter’s shirt!

Carter’s is the most trusted brand in young children’s clothing. I know that when our grand-kids wear Carter’s they are surrounding with softness and quality. And I like that!  But I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Carter’s is featured in the new movie, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which is due in theaters May 18. To celebrate the launch of this movie, Carter’s is hosting “A Closet Full of Carter’s Sweepstakes” on Facebook. They’re giving away over $12,000 in prizes. You’re able to increase your chances of winning the $5,000 Carter’s gift card grand prize by entering every day on Facebook or on your mobile device. There are many other prizes too. The contest is now open until May 18.

No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited by law. Participants must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Promotion begins April 16, 2012 at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends May 18, 2012 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. Limit one (1) entry per person, per day. Complete Official Rules available at www.facebook.com/carters. Carter’s partnered with bloggers such as me to promote their upcoming feature in the movie “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”  As part of the program, I received product or gift cards. This June our youngest grandchild (and only granddaughter) will achieve an important milestone in her life. She’ll take part in a generations-old rite of passage: graduation from kindergarten.

Like her brothers before her, and her parents before them, Kennedy will walk with her kindergarten peers to meet first grade head on! This will be the first of hopefully many graduations to come. In a few short years she’ll be graduating from elementary school, middle school, high school and, before we know it, college. Like most children her age, the world is hers to conquer. This is just one of the first of Kennedy’s lifetime accomplishments.

We’ll celebrate this special occasion with a party complete with Tiny Prints Graduation Announcements. How adorable is the Perfect Penmanship announcement? It looks as if it was created just for Kennedy. Her family and friends alike will open envelopes that contain her celebratory news, and cheer Kennedy on as she embarks on the journey to first grade.

There is a plethora of people, all different ages, that will be celebrating graduations over the next several months. And let me tell you, graduation announcements have come a long way over the years. No longer are they a card just stating the facts that are issued by the school. Now graduation announcements can be personalized. We can get to know the graduate and his/her hobbies and accomplishments through photos. Tiny Prints offers announcements with a single photo, like Graduation Wishes, or a collage of photos, like the Story Square.

Tiny Prints has creative cards where the theme is carried over onto the reverse side also. I love the red and black plaid of the Classic Grad and the simple zigzags of Pure Excitement.

With close to 400 cards to choose from, all of which can be personalized, Tiny Prints is sure to have exactly what you’re looking for.

Congratulations and happy new beginnings to all the graduates!!

Tiny Prints also stays connected with Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. That means they care about their customers, plain and simple!

We did not receive any compensation for this review. We did receive a product sample.
