We’ve always found SeaWorld San Diego to be fascinating and educational. The sea life encounters and wildlife on display are amazing. We’ve been taking our children and grandchildren there for over 40 years. We love that SeaWorld San Diego is dedicated to rescuing animals, rehabilitating them and releasing them back into the wild. Our family has a deep love for the ocean and for the many and varied creatures that call it home. And we have SeaWorld to thank for much of what we’ve learned. Something extra special on display this Christmas Season is SeaWorld San Diego O Wondrus Night.
SeaWorld is celebrating the Christmas Season with lights, sweet holiday treats, dancing, shopping, and an incredibly moving musical. Yes! A musical! SeaWorld has brought the story of Christmas to San Diego complete with a living Nativity including live animals. Yes! Live animals. Among the menagerie are three camels. And the music! Oh, the glorious music! You don’t want to miss celebrating Christmas with SeaWorld’s ‘O Wondrous Night’. It is spectacular!
‘O Wondrous Night’ is a family event. The kids will love it as much as the mom, dads, and grandparents. The puppets are adorable and the performers are fabulous. We laughed at the antics of the puppets and were delighted with their lovely voices (wink). The story of the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ, is told from the view of a donkey, a dove and a sheep. They each share why they think they are the reason the baby Jesus was born in a manger in the stable.
Even with all of the awesome optics, it was the music that rocked our souls. The hymns were sung with such enthusiasm and movement. The choir sings and dances glorious Christmas songs all while many audience members sway to the beat. And the beat! The familiar and favorite songs had a beat I’d never heard quite the likes of before and… I loved them!!
O Wondrous Night will be at SeaWorld San Diego through January 6, 2017. It’s a wonderful production and a perfect way to celebrate the Christmas Season. The following video has highlights of what you’ll hear from the incredible performance, complete with live animals. I’m telling you… the finale with the Magi and camels brought me to tears.
