Its time for the annual 5 Minutes for Mom Ultimate Blog Party ! We love to party, so come in and join the fun! We’re David and Cathi and this is where we write about our ‘Simple Sojourns.’ We’ve been participating in the Ultimate Blog Party for several years now.
Can you smell the banana bread? It’s fresh out of the oven. How about a glass of ice cold milk? See the bubbly glass on the right? That’s mine. I’m having almond milk. We have more if you’d like some too.
You’ll usually find grandchildren running amuck at our house and that’s the way we like it! We spend a lot of time playing games (our current favorite: Spot It), or swinging and climbing about in the backyard. We also love to travel. We’ve traveled the world a bit, but we also enjoy road trips right here in the good ole USA. We spend a lot of time at Disneyland. In fact it’s our meet-up place for our extended family and friends. We also take a whole lot of photos. We’re making memories and keeping them in print for history. *wink*
We make baby blanket, crayon aprons and note card that we sell at Simple Sojourns Boutique. We’d love to have you give it a visit too.
We’d love to connect with you! We’re on: Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Goggle+ YouTube.
We’re so happy you stopped by for a visit. We hope you’ll come back again. Please leave your Blog URL, Facebook, Twitter, and all your connections so we can stop by and visit you too!

I’ve been to Disney World in Orlando when I was a teen. I’d love to someday go back there or Disneyland.

Even as grandparents we (my husband and I) enjoy spending the day at Disneyland. But it’s only a fraction of Walt Disney World, Stacie! Maybe we’ll both get the pixie dust and meet up at Disney Social Media Moms sometime. Wouldn’t that be magic?! I’m so happy you stopped by! I’m still slowly making the rounds. Hugs, Cathi

Sharing the love via the #UBP13! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!
I love the streamers on the swings, talk about a magical and whimsy filled adventure! I love the idea, and cannot wait to tell a friend about it for her daughters birthday fairy party! Thank you for the inspiration!
Cathi says
Hi Jenny,
Thanks so much for stopping by. We’ve had the ribbon streamers on the swinger for almost two years. We had to trim about 12″ off a few months back when one of the ribbon got caught on our grand daughters neck while she was on the teeter totter swing. She was fine but it scared us so tell your friend to have her child sit on the swing and to be sure to measure the ribbons above head height. Happy UBP!!
Hugs,
Cathi

Jessica says
This reminds me I wanted to make banana bread this week, but my kids keep eating all the bananas. I can leave chocolate sitting out without anyone touching it, but we spend most of our grocery budget on fruit and somehow we are always out.
It was great finding your blog through the UBP.
Cathi says
Healthy kids Jessica!! You’re a good mama! We keep the snack drawer stocked with chocolate for our grandkids and can’t the 13-year old to eat fruits. Ha! The little ones like fruit but not him. Thanks so much for stopping by to party!! Hugs, Cathi

Jenn @ Coolest Family on the Block says
Here from the UBP13 for some banana bread! That looks very tasty 🙂
Your photos are lovely. I really like the ones of the swing-set streamers, that’s an awesome idea (so whimsical). We don’t have a swing-set, but if we ever get one we’ll definitely be doing that.
I’ve never been to Disneyland, but I’ve been to Disney World many times and we love it.
Thanks for stopping by my FB page 🙂

Hi Cathy, that looks delicious! What is your secret to beautiful photos?? Love to exchange that info for any blog tips, lol 🙂 Now you’ve made me hungry 🙂
Cathi says
Hi Gina,
Thank you so much! Sometimes it takes many shots to get one I like. Ha! There was a photographer that spoke at blogHer in 2011. She was a professional who had traveled (and still does) the world. She referred to taking a photograph as “making a photo”. Setting it up and making it happen. She also shared how she had spent an entire day watching and waiting for the moment to happen. Thank you so much for you compliment. I have so far to go but that’s what it’s all about, right? Learning and growing together!
Thanks for coming by!
Hugs,
Cathi

Thanks Cathi and NY for stopping by http://www.corbinphotography.zenfolio.com Great to have you visit.
I love NYC!!! I lived there for about 5 months when I was a flight attendant and soaked in everything I could about the city. Haven’t been back in a long time though.
I love meeting others who take tons of pictures. My husband laughs at me b/c I take my camera in restaurants with us (that’s to protect my camera from getting stole out of the car, but also b/c you never know when you’ll see a moment you have to capture) 🙂
So, I’m with the others here getting hungry for banana bread; it looks mouthwatering. But, guess I’ll have to settle for oatmeal this morning. I look forward to walking through your blog and learning more about ya’ll.
Cathi says
Hi Jenn! I’m so glad you stopping by. NY, (aka David) my husband lived in London and NYC among other fabulous cities many times because of his career as a flight attendant.
