Tomorrow is the 4th of July and we have a delightful last minute treat. It’s quick, easy and you can make it in minutes. Perfect for the celebration at your house or to take with you for a patriotic barbecue. Today we have a Red, White and Blue, Berry Shortcake recipe!
We’re still loving all the summer berries which are in abundance everywhere. Add a bit of angel food cake and whipped cream and you have the makings of a delicious berry shortcake.
Ingredients:
- Strawberries sliced into bite size pieces
- Blueberries
- Angel food cake or pound cake in bite size pieces
- Whipped cream. Heavy cream that you whip yourself will last the longest in the finished jar.
- Mason jars (I used 16 ounce/pint jars)
1. In the following order, layer the strawberries, angel food cake and blueberries in the mason jars.
2. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the blueberries.
3. Cover with the jar lid and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Embellish your mason jars with ribbon, twine and…
