Easy Easter Craft
Today we have a beautiful easy Easter art project. This project may seem too detailed for kids but it isn’t. The pattern of the colored paper strips need not be perfect straight or evenly cut. And it’s perfect for children to master their small motor skills.
And wouldn’t this make the cutest greeting card?
List of Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- White craft paper
- Craft glue
- Scissors (use scissors under adult supervision)
- Pencil – to trace the template
- Template – printable included
Instructions:
- Prepare a piece of white craft paper and trace the pattern from our printable template. Carefully cut out the traced pattern from the paper. This is now your WINDOW.
- Prepare another piece of craft paper slightly larger size then your; Use a different color than you WINDOW. Ours is yellow as shown. This is your BASE. Place the cut out WINDOW on the top of the BASE paper and use a pencil to lightly mark the top and bottom end of the WINDOW edges on the BASE.
- If you’re making a greeting card, cut your yellow (or whatever color you choose) BASE paper twice the size so that it can be folded in half.
- Cut the colored craft paper into thin strips. The length of the strips should not exceed the edges of your WINDOW.
- You can apply glue on the back of the strips and stick them on the BASE or apply glue on the BASE itself.
- Glue the strips from top to bottom on the BASE. It’s your choice to glue them vertically or horizontally.
- Done gluing all the strips? Now Apply glue on the back side of your WINDOW and carefully place it on the striped BASE as shown.
Voila!
Easy peasy!
You can also make different templates using cookie cutters (or freehand) for other holidays or simple everyday projects.
Use your imagination and have fun with it!
