Did you know your washing machine needs to be cleaned occasionally? Our repair man recently informed us of that fact and I was honestly quite stunned. It had never occurred to me to clean the washing machine. I figured it was getting clean every time we used it. But now that I’m thinking about it … I scrub down our bathtubs and showers, so why wouldn’t the washing machine need to be ‘scrubbed down’ as well? I had no idea that residue can build up in washing machines and can cause odors. We travel often so it’s important that our machine is always clean and ready to use. We simply don’t want to come home after being away only to discover an unpleasant laundry room odor.
Developed by industry leader Whirlpool, affresh Power Puck tablets’ oxygenated bubbling action penetrates and dissolves built up residue with more effectiveness than bleach alone. Whirlpool recommends using affresh once a month, however a heavily soiled washer may require repeated treatments to remove all traces of odor and residue.
I recently left a tube of red lipstick in the pocket of my jeans. I discovered I this after the jeans had gone through a wash cycle. There was also red lipstick on the next load of clothes. Devastated and frustrated I tried cleaning the machine with affresh. It took two cleanings but it removed all the lipstick from the machine and was nothing short of a miracle to me! I’m excited about using affresh regularly. Our Whirlpool washing machine is almost 10 years old. Hopefully by giving it a monthly cleaning it will continue to keep our favorite clothes clean for many years to come.
affresh Power Puck tablets are available at Sears, Best Buy, Lowe’s and supermarkets.
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by ‘Mom Central Consulting’ on behalf of affresh and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking time to participate.
