It’s Back To School night at our grandkid’s school. Our daughter-in-law dropped off the three grands and one of their friends while she went to visit with the kids teachers.
Our youngest son’s life revolves around his dog Butters. Butters has an eye infection and has to have an Rx ointment applied four times a day. It’s not possible for him to do this while he’s working so we are granddoggy sitting for a few days.
Where is your “go to” place when you need child care or dog sitting?
Vicki says
My kids are grown, and we try to take our dog with us when we go somewhere, but when we can't we have my husbands cousin dog sit.

I don't have a go to place at all. No family close by and everyone else we know hat their own family and troubles..

Definately the grands if we are going over night, otherwise we exchange with friends. Babysitters are soooo expensive! 🙂

I always go with my in-laws or my mom. My kids enjoy being with both in different ways. The biggest problem that I have is that they both live 80 miles away from me – so everything must be planned in advance. In a pinch I ask my neighbors, but that is very last resort for me.

Yeah! No more child care for me!
Ironically, when I travel and need a dog sitter, I use my kids 🙂
Have a great Friday!

We are lucky and my parents are VERY close to us. The kids will usually go there in a pinch. They were also the ones that watched the boys when we were at BlogHer.

We are currently a no pet household… but only because we are looking for a dog to fill our void. I think we would ask family to pet sit if we needed it.
come stop by.

Only at Grandma's. The local colleges will usually recommend some girls they trust if you are in dire need.

aren't you good 'grands'!
Seems we went and had too many kids. Can't leave 'em with my in-laws and my mom only takes 'em one at a time. But – the girl down the street turned 13 last yr and as her mom is just 5 doors down from my house – it worked out for her to babysit and her mother would stay home 'just in case' and now she's all trained up and bless her heart she only says no when she has a tennis match. whew!
