I was born in Michigan where I enjoyed a White Christmas until I was three years old and we moved to San Diego, California. Since then Christmas has been sunny My extended family did rent a huge cabin one Christmas in the mountains. I remember laying awake on the top floor in a couple of top bunks head to head with my cousin David. We had the window open at our heads with the cold snowy breeze blowing in. We chatted through most of the night. That is a Christmas I’d like to do again with my children and grand babies.
Michigan 1957 – It doesn’t look like I can move!! I look a bit like the little brother on a Christmas Story.
How about you? Do you prefer a white Christmas or a sunny Christmas?

I live in Michigan! And I don’t think it would feel like Christmas if it weren’t cold and (hopefully) snowy. I’m not a big fan of cold and snow in general, but for me it’s a ‘must-have’ part of the Christmas season. Then again, I’ve never lived anywhere else either, so this is all I know. 🙂

Awwww how cute were you! I’ve only ever lived in sunny places, and now I finally live somewhere it snows. We had a white Thanksgiving, so I’m hoping for a white Christmas too.

Yes, you totally remind me of A Christmas Story!
I like my cake and eat it, too. Living in South Florida for 27+years, I like a White Christmas for one day only and if I can be inside. Otherwise, I like it sunny! Cool evenings and warm days are the best!

I’ve always been used to sunny Christmas but it would be nice to experience a snowy one someday.

it’s always sunny Christmas as I grew up. I experienced a snowy Christmas one time here in Japan, but that was a depressing time, since it was my first Christmas away from home!
