From Kailani at An Island Life: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let’s take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question…nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!
Tuesday I had the opportunity to (kinda) go on a field trip to the San Diego Safari Park with my 7-year old grandson’s school. I wasn’t an actual chaperon but our daughter-in-law Mindi was. I took our other two grands and we drove ourselves arriving before the bus. We did our own thing (after giving Mindi her admission ticket and Butterfly Jungle tickets) and had a fabulous time.
I’ve been doing school field trips for almost thirty years! My first was when Brian was in kindergarten in 1982. I’ve racked up more than I can count while our kids went through elementary, middle and high school. There were even plenty of Cub Scout field trips added to the mix. I have to say though, my favorite trips were the times I went with the high school to see Phantom of the Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion – Los Angeles Music Center. And now I have the privilege of doing it all again with our grandchildren.
How about you? Do you do field trips with your children, grandchildren?

I haven’t been able to go along with Princess Nagger yet – only volunteers are allowed to go. The security at her school is astounding, you have to jump through a bunch of hoops before you can become a volunteer, and I haven’t jumped through all of them yet, because of scheduling snafus. 😉

I don’t have any kids yet, but I volunteer at my nieces, nephews and god kids schools a few times a year. Our most recent trip was to the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.

I would love to if there were more opportunities. Usually I have to stay with the little ones.

I have been on one since my son began school. I might attend more when possible.
It’s good to watch our kids away from us in their setting.

Your post made me remember something. I never sent in the money for NHL’s upcoming trip. His class is going to the Bronx Zoo and I am supposed to go. Late sending in money and hope that doesn’t mess things up.
