It’s Favorite Photo Saturday!
We take a lot of photos every week. Sometimes hundreds! Seriously. (Love digital photography!) So we decided to choose one favorite each week and post it on Saturday. We hope you’ll join us!! Just leave your link in the comments so we can drop by and see your favorite photo of the week.
Yesterday we toured Hangzhou, China and the Lingyin Temple (Temple of Soul’s Retreat). It’s beautiful beyond words. The hill area surrounding the Temple is known as Feilai Feng which means, The Peak That Flew Here. This is one of the Buddha carvings in the mountainside. It’s the Buddha who watches over the future. Isn’t his smile contagious? It’s said that if you smile back at him you’ll have good luck in the future. He, along with the other carvings, dates back to the 10th century. Unfortunately no photographs were allowed inside the Temple buildings where a 66 foot tall golden Buddha was surrounded by monks chanting in unison.

Gorgeous photos from your trip so far. My Papa collected Buddha figures and they used to fascinate me. Safe travels home to you and NY.
