We’ve been going to the San Diego Safari Park for over 30 years. I often say our kids grew up there. We would go at the drop of a hat for no special reason whatsoever. We watched many of the animals grow up right along with our kids and loved every minute of it. Now we’re doing it all over again with our grandchildren. Today I took The Princess and Monkey Boy to see ‘Butterfly Jungle’ and ‘Lorikeet Landing.’ The butterflies are extraordinary! They’re gorgeous, friendly and simply fascinating.
The lorikeets weigh a tad more than the butterflies (hehe) and are a bit more aggressive. While they too are fascinating, they also seem to be fearless. Especially the one that landed on The Princess’s head. As much as I tried to shoo it, it refused to fly away … until a keeper came. I guess the lorikeet figured I didn’t have any clout!
