The winter wonderland known as Greenland is near the top of the world, as evident from the horizon in this photo. Taken on the return flight from London at 38,000 feet and traveling over 500 miles per hour!

Fantastic! Oohh… you remind me that I’m so travel deprived … 😉
Well, at least I get to fly (relatively low) over the Rockies from time to time – and the views can be awesome. Such a neat perspective – I can even pick out the interstate and some ski towns on that flight over to Denver. Flying over snowy mountains is one of my favorite things!
It’s incredible that you got such a shot through a commercial plane window?!!?
Cathi says
Thank you Yvonne and Tami. The shot was from the little window on the aircraft door in the galley! I was lucky the window scratches aren’t showing in the photo. 😉
Tami…I’m lucky that my husband works for an airline and I have the opportunity to go to “work” with him. I’m a window lookie loo and when he was flying Los Angeles/ NYC I was able to tell if we were taking a different route than usual just by the scenery below. ;D This was my first trip to London. We took our youngest son (age 30 hehe) along with us.
