I love the holidays.
I love getting together with family and friends to reminisce about the past and make memories for the future. I love gathering at at the table to give thanks at Thanksgiving and to celebrate the birth of the Savior at Christmas.
Every year a lot of Christmas memories are made while gathered around the table. Sharing good food and good company always goes hand in hand during the holidays.
One of my favorite crowd pleasing holiday appetizers are these oh-so-delicious Savory Mini Vegan (or not) Cheese Balls. The recipe is quick and easy which means less time in the kitchen and more time with family and friends.
Savory Mini Cheese Balls
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2pkg. (8 oz. each) vegan (or regular) cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seed
- 1 teaspoon poppy seed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced, divided
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
- 1/4 cup finely chopped dried cranberries
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped pecans
Directions:
- Cut the cream cheese into 6 pieces; roll each into a ball.
- Combine sesame seed, poppy seed and half the garlic in small bowl.
- Mix herbs and remaining garlic in separate small bowl.
- Combine cranberries and nuts in third small bowl.
- Roll 2 cheese balls in sesame seed mixture, 2 cheese balls in herb mixture and remaining cheese balls in nut mixture.
- Serve with crackers, mini bagels or toast points.
