SeaWorld San Diego is all about fun in the sun while also learning about ocean life. But did you know during weekends from the end of September, through October 29th, it’s all about Halloween, too? Yes! SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular is, well … spectacular! It’s one of San Diego’s biggest fall festivals.
Sea World San Diego Single-Day Ticket – Kids Free Offer is a great deal during the entire month of October. For each full-paid adult ticket you can get a FREE child ticket (ages 3-9). How cool is that? It’s valid through October 31, 2017, with a limit of 6 free children’s tickets per order. Details available at SeaWorld San Diego. As always, your visits help support SeaWorld’s animal rescue and conservation efforts.
SeaWorld is always exceptional. Add a bit of Halloween, mixed with candy and two grandkids donning their pirate costumes, and you have a spooktacular time! The kids were over the top excited about going to SeaWorld to begin with. When they learned they could go dressed as pirates they were thrilled! Where better to be a pirate?!
Our sassy little pirates were quick to put on their ‘aargh’ faces for photos. After all, how often do you get away with sneering at your grandparents? Them thar pirates of ours stayed in character all the day long. Especially the teenager. Ha!
Face painting is a fun tradition that our grandkids love. And I mean LOVE! It’s the first thing we did when we arrived. We think Kennedy’s Day of the Dead face paint is a perfect accessory to her pirate costume!
As always, SeaWorld puts the environment and planet first. They’re requesting guests bring their own reusable bags for trick or treating. No plastic bags, please. You also have the opportunity to purchase a reusable bag for only 99 cents. Five percent of the proceeds from each bag goes directly to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. That alone was enough to encourage us to buy our pirates each a bag.
Dia De Los Muertos seems to be much more popular this year than ever. We were intrigued and loved learning a bit more about it while enjoying SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular. Their Dia De Los Muertos Celebration is complete with beautiful murals, food, papel picado flags, vibrant Ofrendas and large Catrinas. It’s fascinating!
The Halloween decorations continue throughout the park. From scarecrows to colorful and animated pumpkins, there’s so much to see and do. As huge fans of Halloween, we were totally impressed.
Of course, amongst all the Halloween magic, our favorite attractions still draw us in. At one of our favorites, Sea Lions Live, Clyde and Seamour are having a Big Halloween Bash! After all, what place goes hand in hand better for pirates AND sharks AND a myriad of other sea creatures?!
As we’ve said in the past, the All-Day Dining Deal really is just that: a deal! We’ve found that the grandkids eat less junk food with the All-Day Dining Deal because they’re always satisfied with real food. Cody is the biggest fan ever of the BBQ Ribs at Calypso Bay Smokehouse. And wow! Take a look at that scrumptious Spooktacular cupcake!
We also, once again, recommend purchasing the Quick Queue: Front-of the-line ride access pass. It’s for skipping the lines of the most popular rides. The kids rode Manta more times than we can count. They were thrilled with the spooky but fun look it has for Spooktacular.
We finished our Spooktacular day dancing the night away. The music is fabulous! The costumed sea characters along with Tabitha Taffy and Timothy Toffee are more than happy to pose for photos, take a selfie with you and join you on the dance floor!
It’s a family affair at SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular! Gather the family, young and not so young, for a Spooktacular time. And don’t forget your costumes, if you feel so inclined. They are optional, of course. Big Spooky Smile!!!
David says: Another fun day for all with an added Halloween twist!
Cathi says: SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular was a win win for me with two of my very favorite things all wrapped up together!
Cody says: Shiver me timbers! It was fun being a prirate at SeaWorld! (With pirate accent, of course!)
Kennedy says: I love the splash zone! When can we go again?
