We’re honored to be part of the Knott’s Berry Farm #BerryBloggers program. This blog post is part of our partnership with Knott’s Berry Farm.
It’s a celebration of Halloween at Knott’s Berry Farm. And we’re here to tell you there’s something for everyone of all ages!
While Knott’s Scary Farm is famous for scaring the daylights out of you, Spooky Farm is all about fun. Lots of Halloween fun!
Spooky Farm is geared towards kids 3 – 11. But we promise, it’s all about family-fun. Especially for this grandma, who’s seriously WAY too Scared of Scary Farm. We took three generations of our family to Spooky Farm and had so much fun. So much so that we’ve put together our Ultimate Guide to Spooky Farm just for you!
Quick word of warning —> Do not expect to see Sad-Eye Joe in the jail house. Joe’s on furlough and a werewolf has taken up residence. And he can be quite the fright!
Trick-or-Treating:
Yes, Trick-or-Treating!
Be sure to meet all the ghostly townsfolk handing out the treats. Hint: They love posing for photographs!
Don’t miss these treat locations:
- Dress Shop
- Post Office
- Gun Shop
- Undertaker
- Town Hall
- Calico Bank
What treat will the kiddos get, you ask? Hershey’s Treats! Knott’s Spooky Farm is sponsored by Hershey’s. How cool is that?!?
Linus Van Pelt’s Great Pumpkin Patch:
Calico Square is blooming with pumpkins, kid’s crafts, cookies, strolling musicians, boutique shopping and… Linus! His pumpkin patch is a festive photo opportunity for the kiddos and whole family!
The kids can pick their very own pumpkin and use their creativity to decorate it! $6.00 buys the pumpkin and all that’s needed for decorating it.
There’s also wooden Pumpkin Painting for $10.00 which is so worth the cost. Everything is provided, and your pumpkin will celebrate Halloween for generations to come!
Cookie Decorating for the kiddos brings our their creativity AND satisfies their sweet tooth. Each cookie box contains two sugar cookies, icing, candies and sprinkles for $5.99.
Creepy Critters of Calico:
Happy Halloween from Stanley Scarecrow who has opened up the livery stable for all the Creepy Critters of Calico. There are turtles, spiders, caterpillars, snakes and many more incredible creepy critters. Some will warm your heart while others will give you the heebie-jeebies. There’s even a horse dressed up as a skeleton!
Be sure to head over to the Camp Snoopy Theatre for “The Monsters Are Coming, Charlie Brown.” The festive show is full of our favorite Peanuts characters dressed up for Halloween. The kiddos will love participating in the Spooky Farm Costume Contest. There’s also a daily costume contest where all the little kiddos get to parade on stage and show off their Halloween costumes. Be sure to check show times and “Calling All The Monsters” costume contest times in the Knott’s Berry Farm daily schedule.
Grand Sierra Railroad Trip to Camp Snoopy is another not-to-be missed adventure for the whole family. The Grand Sierra Railroad in Camp Snoopy has added 2D and 3D Halloween themed characters and special effects. The Halloween fun has just begun!
Timber Mountain Log Ride: Halloween Hootenanny:
Timber Mountain Log Ride is all dressed up for Halloween Hootenanny! Timber Mountain has gone spooky with tons of family-friendly surprises. You’ll float past the Calico Coffin Creeper Band, and the Green Witch, as you wind your way to eventually splash down Skull Mountain. All the while serenaded with an original song by Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies. Timber Mountain Log Ride: Halloween Hootenanny is open day and night through the Halloween season.
Spooky Story Time:
One of our favorite things to do year-round is visit the Bird Cage Theater. For Halloween “Spooky Story Time” has taken over the theatre and is very family friendly. The storytellers interact with the kids making it fun for all. Pay close attention and you may see and hear the elusive haunted calliope player outside the Bird Cage Theater. It’s a sight to see. And hauntingly musical to hear.
Spooky Sweet and Savory Foods:
It just can’t be Halloween without lots of spooky sweet and savory treats. From the delicious ‘Infected’ and ‘Slaughter House’ pizzas, to the Monster Burger and Spooky’s Sloppy Burger, to the Graveyard and Candy Corn pudding cups, and Oreo Monster Cookies, you’re sure to find something to tickle your Halloween taste buds!
Knott’s Berry Farm Halloween Decorations:
We are always over the top impressed with Knott’s Berry Farm’s seasonal decorations. It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, Knott’s celebrates everything from the beautiful gardens to the every day decor. For Halloween there are pumpkins everywhere! Every! Where! Along with scarecrows and other interesting creatures. But not to be missed is the gorgeous fountain in Charleston Circle. The fountain is always so festive but… now it’s full of pumpkins. Pumpkins of all colors and all sizes and it is absolutely enchanting.
In Fiesta Village the ‘Dia De Los Muertos’ celebration is in full swing. Day of the Dead! The decor is perfect for the theme.
