We’re honored to be part of the 2019 Knott’s Berry Farm #BerryBloggers program. This blog post is part of our partnership with Knott’s Berry Farm.
It’s that spooky and scary time of year! It also happens to be my favorite time of year. Which is quite simply an oxymoron when it comes to me. Why? Well … as much as I love fall and Halloween, I’m also a big scaredy cat. A huge scaredy cat! And because of that you can believe me when I say Knotts Scary Farm is way too scary for me! I know. I really do! Because I tried it. And it was so incredibly scary that David and a few amazingly understanding Knott’s Public Relations people saved me and escorted me back out the way we went in of the maze we were previewing.
How far in the maze did I get? On a scale of one to ten: maybe ONE.
How scared was I? Same scale: ONE THOUSAND!!
Oh! And did I mention there weren’t even any monsters? We were only doing a media walk through as Knott’s was preparing for opening night.
I don’t even want to imagine how SCARY Scary Farm is, with more than ONE THOUSAND monsters running about. After all, it is their intention to scare the beejeebies out of you, me and everyone! I’ll leave it to your imagination! Or dare you to experience it for yourself!

So what exactly is Knott’s Scary Farm?
Well, if you’re a fan, then you already know. If you don’t know, then here you go!
monsters …
Monsters …
And more MONSTERS …
Scary! Creepy!! Jump out-at-you MONSTERS!!!
A thousand monsters! (A Knott’s Scary Farm team member in costume = monster!) They lurk in scary mazes! And they roam the streets of Knott’s Scary Farm! From the scary evil clowns at CarnEvil swarming The Boardwalk, to the gothic creatures of Forsaken Lake, to the streets of Ghost Town. A myriad of monsters are ready and waiting to give you the fright of you life!
Mazes for 2019:
- Wax Works (New for 2019)
- Origins: The Curse of Calico
- Paranormal Inc.
- Pumpkin Eater
- Dark Ride
- The Depths
- Dark Entities
- Special Ops: Infected (last year)
- Shadowlands (last year)
The thought of any of those scare zone scares the daylights out of me. But I have to admit, I am intrigued with Forsaken Lake. We had an opportunity to tour wardrobe and see the costumes up close. I was (squealing with seamstress delight!) able to hold the feathered costume collar pictured above. It is incredibly gorgeous. Not scary at all (when there’s not a monster in it!).
Forsaken Lake has a funeral procession that draws me in. However, the scare factor is still WAY too much for me. I know my limits and will not embarrass myself with another total sobbing meltdown. Yup, that’s how scared I was!
Scare Zones for 2019:
- Ghost Town Streets – Bands of half-human, half-animal monsters prowl the streets and inhabit the fog. Beware of the notoriously startling sliders, who lunge from fog!
- CarnEvil – Watch out for deviant clowns who crave your undying attention on the Boardwalk. They’ll scare you AND follow you! Sneaky devils!
- The Hollow – The Witches of the Hollow, along with armies of creatures, have risen to battle with the Witch Hunter. Yikes!
- Forsaken Lake – Gothic creatures, ravaged by the dark and murky waters, wander from their crypts, preying on YOU, all while looking for victims to drag back to their watery grave. WHAT? Oh, @#&!* NO!!
Entertainment for 2019:
- Puppet Up! Uncensored – An outrageous, off-the-cuff, live show, featuring a combination of comedy and the magic of puppetry. Performed by world-class comedian puppeteers from The Jim Henson Company. The three performances each night are intended for MATURE audiences.
- Conjurers – Magic and Mirth in the Birdcage Theatre. Award-winning magicians and masters of illusion. They amaze and amuse.
- Awaken The Dead – A non-stop DJ dance party in Fiesta Village.

**Due to the explicit & frightening nature of Scary Farm, it is NOT recommended for children under the age of 13. (or Cathi!)
**Knott’s Scary Farm is very popular, but with a Fright & Fast Lane Pass you’ll save time, and be able to do more of everything Knott’s Scary Farm has to offer. David has attended several times with our sons, grandsons, and friends. With the Fright & Fast Lane Pass they were able to do all the mazes (some more than once), and experience everything else, too. You get access to priority lines for the mazes and specific popular rides.
So …. Are you ready to brave the fog?!?
David (Grandpa) says: Knott’s goes all out with the scare factor. It’s no wonder this annual event is highly anticipated. For those seeking scary thrills and chills (not Cathi!), Knott’s is definitely THE place!
Cody (16-year old grandson) says: Scary Farm is terrifying but fun! Every year!
Jayden (Cody’s bestie) says: An absolute blast! I would totally go again and again!
James (Cody’s bestie) says: Scary Farm is something I look forward to. I like scary stuff. And Knott’s knows scary.
