Every storm in our lives can be followed by a rainbow.
In 1976, as a young mother-to-be, I went to the hospital in labor. While I knew at 24 weeks it was way too early to deliver my baby, I still had hopes of bringing my little bundle home. Home to love, nurture, and cuddle. It didn’t happen. I left the hospital 2 days later without my baby. I was overcome with grief during that storm in my life.
A year later my ‘rainbow baby’ was born. He’ll be forty this year. He now has three babies of his own (the oldest of which is driving … yikes!).
So, I believe wholeheartedly that our personal storms can be followed by rainbows. My ‘rainbow baby’ still, to this day, makes my heart dance every single time I see his face.
