Pacific Coast Highway
I don’t know if I have ever driven north on PCH past Santa Barbara before. It’s lovely to see the ocean on along side the road opposite the green hills as the car meanders along the coastline. The majesty of God is so vibrant in the powerful crashing of the white waves on the black rocky coast and white sand.
While NY and the sleeping boys waited in the car, Mindi and I took The Princess down to see the ocean up close. I don’t know why Mindi and I can’t do something as simple as walk in the sand by the water without getting soaking wet…but we can’t and we didn’t.
The Princess wasn’t impressed with the sea weed nor did she care where it came from.

(What a Princess!)
The sun was starting to set and the breeze was getting cold and we still had many miles before we reached Santa Cruz. When we had walked from the car in the soft sand it felt good on our bare feet. Not so when our feet were wet and oh so cold. The sand suddenly became hard and felt as if we were walking on tiny sharp rocks.
By the time we were driving through Big Sur and Carmel by the Sea The Princess had joined her brothers in dream land, Mindi was singing songs along with her mp3 player while NY was trying to guess what the name of the song and who artist was, (They have no idea I was recording them on the mini tape recorder) and me? I was enjoying my calling as the resident “lookie loo” totally fascinated by the huge redwood trees and panoramic views of the ocean.
