So, I started this diet. I’m eating specific foods without any exceptions. I’m happy with what I’m eating, I’m not hungry between meals and I’m very full after meals. The best thing is I’ve lost over 15 pounds. That right there is motivation!
But … there’s no cheating. At all. That said, we picked up the grands after school today. They were excited, energetic and hungry. I made 6 grilled cheese sandwiches and 1 cheese quesadilla along with several glasses of chocolate milk. And … I didn’t sneak one taste or even lick my fingers. Not once!
Usually I taste as I cook or bake. You know, just to make sure everything is just right! How about you? Do you taste as you go when in the kitchen?
Vicki says
It depends on what I’m making. If it’s something I make a lot, I don’t taste it. If it’s something new, I do, just to make sure it’s got enough seasoning etc.

I actually don’t really eat or taste the food as I’m cooking.
Cathi says
I wish I had our will power or confidence. 😉 Although I’m doing it now when cooking for the grands while on this food plan. 🙂

I don’t taste and cook at all. I only remember after when it’s being dished and I panic 🙂
Awesome going with your diet!
Cathi says
Thanks so much!! I’m really feeling great and so much better about myself. 😉
Stacy Uncorked says
I do taste as I make – though not for everything…just stuff I’m seasoning to make sure it’s ‘just so’. 🙂

Seasoning … I love seasoning! It can make a dish so so or great! 😉
Beth @ TheAngelForever says
Sometimes I taste as I go, more tempting as I bake. That salad looks amazing. Can I have some?
Cathi says
The salad is one of my favs on this food plan. Doesn’t ‘food plan’ sound better than diet? Ha!
We mix leaf or romaine lettuce with strawberries and chicken with apple cider vinegar as dressing. Easy to take on the go too. We just have the lettuce in a rubbermaid container with the chicken and strawberries in separate baggies. Mix together and add vinegar. 😉

In my case, I think the term used in “grazing” as in the “Queen of”….
Have a great weekend!

I think grazing is a good thing! 😉

I wear retainers and I am lactose intolerant so I dont taste as I go LOL. I used to!
Cathi says
Is it difficult to cook for the family being lactose intolerant? I know that must be difficult. Lots of lactose free treats out there though aren’t there? 😉
Debra @ A Frugal Friend says
No, I usually don’t (unless it’s the giblet gravy) 🙂 Congratulations on losing the weight Cathi!
Cathi says
Thank you dear friend! I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

I’m a good cook, I think, but Hubby does 99% of the cooking. I’m the Baker in the house, so it rarely happens that I can taste as I go.
Also, you go on with your bad self! What’s the diet?
Cathi says
Before we started the diet NY (my husband) did a lot of cooking. We’re doing the Hypothalamus Rebalancing diet. I’m going to post a series on it in a month or so. It’s strict but the food is very good and healthy. And the two meals we eat are huge! take me almost an hour to eat it all but I do eat slow. hehe Today is our 24th day and I’ve lost 18 pounds and NY has lost 22 pounds. We’re happy campers but I’ll admit … the other night I really wanted ice cream. Ha! I was’t hungry though, just wanted some. 😉

I sometimes try things to make sure whatever I’m making doesnt need more seasoning.
Cathi says
Seasoning is so important! I forgot the salt in bread one time and the bread was horrid! LOL
Menopausal New Mom says
I usually don’t taste as I go unless it’s a new recipe I’ve not made before.
Cathi says
Oooo … I love new recipes! I think I’ll do that for Aloha Friday next week!
