Southern California is one of the “perfect” places to live. The weather is warm and sunny practically year round and there’s a plethora of interesting places to see and things to do.
Besides being huge Disneyland fans we enjoy taking in museums, county fairs and anything interesting along with trying new restaurants. We never have to search far for activities to entertain us or our grandkids. Right now we’re planning a trip to the La Brea Tar Pits and the Getty Museum before our grandkids start school again. Even our small city (where our children grew up) has a delightful weekly Farmer’s Market along with outdoor summer entertainment. Every Friday evening the community gathers together for a movie or concert in the park.
It doesn’t get any better than this!

Oh, I love the La Brea Tar Pits…finally got to take my husband a few years ago. Think I learned more going as an adult. LOL

I have to ask, what are the La Brea Tar Pits? I'm coming out to LA for a week, and I need some things to do. I really want to sight-see or take a tour, but I don't know where to start. My husband will be in meetings for four days, so I'm going to have to find a way to keep myself occupied while he does that. We definitely want to spend a day at Disneyland when we're together, but I need suggestions on what to do alone. Any ideas? If so, I'd welcome your advice! armitage 923 at yahoo dot com (no spaces, obviously) Thanks!

My cousins live out in Southern CA. One day I hope to get back out there to see them. I went to Disneyland in 1988, so it has been a long time. Wish we could grow sunflowers, but never seen to have much luck here.
