Finish anything you wanted to do in January but didn’t quite get around to doing … yet
Yup!! I’m still working on my 2023 bucket list. How about you? What did you want to do in January but didn’t get around to it?

Give a Paper Heart Attack
It’s fun, appreciated, and such a delight for the receiver. Cut out construction paper hearts in all sizes and leave them on someone’s front door or porch. (stick them up with something that is harmless to paint, etc.) You can even write love notes on the hearts! This is a fun way to let friends and/or family know they’re being thought of. Do it alone or enlist the kids to help! See The House That Lars Built to see how to give a paper heart attack, and also how to send one in the mail.
Send out Valentine’s Day Cards
Our kiddos always have so much fun giving out Valentine’s Day cards at school. Of course there’s usually a party to go along with those Valentines. Now it’s our turn as parents! We thought it would be fun to send out Valentine’s Day cards to our friends and relatives. Drop them in the mail and know you are creating heart warmed smiles!

Plan a Valentine’s Day Dinner
Plan a family Valentine’s Day dinner. Enlist the kids/grands to make decorations and set the table. The kids can even plan the menu! Go around the table and have everyone say something they love about each family member.

Plan a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for you and your special someone! It can be simple or totally over the top!

Plan your Vegetable Garden on Paper
Yes! It’s still a bit early to actually plant the seeds in the soil, but it’s the perfect time to plan out what and where you want to plant.

Read a Book
Do you have a book that you’ve been wanting to read? A book that’s been on your reading list for a long time? Read it!

Plant an Herb Garden
You can start your herb garden off in pots and transplant into your yard OR leave them in pots in the house. I have an herb garden in my backyard. This week I went out to cut some thyme and basil for minestrone soup but … my basil was dead. I’ve never had this happen before. It’s time for me to redo and freshen up my herb garden.
Listen to a New to You Podcast
We have a few podcasts that we truly enjoy and Sharon Says So is at the top of our list. Sharon is a non-partisan US government and law educator. She is pure genius with anything US government and current events. Those of us who follow her, especially on Instagram, refer to ourselves as Governerds.
Her podcast covers a plethora of topics and she always entertains. Listening to Sharon is a fun way to grow your knowledge!

Go Thrifting
It’s fun! And best of all you might save a TON of money. I can honestly say that in the last few years a lot of my clothes are second hand. Be it our local thrift shop or my favorite online thrift source, Poshmark, I’ve found exactly what I want for both of us, at extraordinary prices! AND we also pass on/sell clothes that we no longer want/wear. The glory of Poshmark (and sometimes eBay) is that I’ve replaced some all-time favorite (now retired) clothing items for a fraction of their original prices. I call that a HUGE win!!

Be Kind
It’s easy. It’s human. It’s necessary.
Our world is often in a state of turmoil. At this point in history, my country, the United States, seems at times far from being united.
Show kindness to your family, your neighbors, and even strangers. (Even those that might not afford you the same kindness.)
Smile. A simple kind smile can make a huge difference in someone’s day. Especially if they pass it forward. And hopefully they will.
And for the bonus eleven!
