A few days ago I fell down the stairs. I’d like to claim it was the first time it happened but that’s exactly what it would be … a claim. It’s my own fault. It only happens when I run up or down the stairs. Yep … I’ve fallen running up the stairs too. In my defense, the stairs are very wide and if I’m in the middle I can’t reach the rail to hold on to. Not much of a defense is it.
This time I fell at the bottom. I simply missed the bottom step in my rush to answer the front door. I thought I was okay and had saved myself when my foot was safely on the tile floor below. But I still hit the ground and rolled across the entry way … about 15 feet. I bruised my right knee, right hip, a few ribs and … my pride. The bruises on my knee and hip are beginning to heal but not my ribs. They are in fact getting worse. Today I spent the afternoon getting x-rays as ordered by my doctor. She wants to see me early in the morning … 8am early.
How about you? Are you steady on your feet or have you taken a tumble or two?
(The photos simply shows our stairs and … our grand puppy and grandson. hehe)

I trip all the time but thankfully I rarely fall down! I think the last time I fell was because someone loading the dishwasher left water all over the floor…kinda not my fault! Hope you’re okay!

I have tripped/slipped and fell down at the mall, down the stairs, at the park… Luckily I never hurt myself too bad. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I hope you heal quickly and that you didn’t break one of your ribs. Hugs to you!
I have taken a tumble down my stairs a couple of times. One time I broke my big toe.

I’m a bit of a klutz at times. And by “a bit” I mean “a complete” and by “at times” I mean “all the time.” I’ll bang my hands, arms, legs, feet, etc because I don’t realize just where they are in relation to other objects. Oddly, I’m great at spatial reasoning, just not where my own body is concerned apparently.

First of all I love how big and wide your stairs are. I am not a tripper my middle child is though. I hope you heal soon!

I’ve had my share of spills. The worst was when I was around 7, I fell off my bunk bed from the top bunk, even with the net on it and smashed my wrist on my toy box. I ended up breaking that wrist. I’ve also fallen a time or two as an adult. Hope you are alright!

Oh you poor thing! Hope it turns out your ribs are just bruised, too. ((HUGZ!!))
I can be a total klutz sometimes – I fell down our stairs once, luckily caught myself halfway down and only broke my foot. 🙂

I’m glad you weren’t hurt too badly but you gotta be careful. This looks dangerous. I like that yours is wide. Ours is quite steep and I have this fear that my kids will fall.
I’m steady on my feet. I think because I have the cautious bone.
Aloha.

Ouch!!..that must have really hurt. We don’t have stairs in our house as we stay in an apartment..but if they were stairs I would be treading carefully as I’m really afraid of falling down.. especially if I’m carrying the baby.

Oh, hope you are better soon. I actually fell at Disney – they were asleep and the room was pitch dark. I had come in from outside on the balcony and couldn’t see a thing….my eyes hadn’t adjusted. Oh, I tripped over that big ottoman and “FLEW” across the room – at the Grand Floridian. You probably didn’t notice that huge bruise/scrape on my foot…..I had to wear my croc sandals the entire trip! 🙂
